Dr. Petzold is a Family Physician certified in Functional Medicine. She teaches integrative and culinary medicine at the University of Utah. Her interests are in understanding the whole person, identifying WHY someone is having symptoms and using science, lifestyle and culinary medicine to optimize health.
Tricia understands health as a reflection of the whole person and their interaction with their environment. She focuses on treating the underlying causes that are contributing to symptoms. Inflammatory diets devoid of nutrients, lack of sleep, chronic stress, too little or too much physical activity, and high toxin burdens are some of the major underlying causes and contributors to chronic disease. She practices by connecting her knowledge of the pathophysiology of chronic diseases with a practical way of helping her patients make meaningful changes.
After studying many anti-inflammatory lifestyle modalities including the science of sleep, nutrition, movement, and supporting the microbiome and immune system, she improved her own health and became certified in Functional Medicine. She is honored to be able to share this approach to health and healing with the Pinnacle community.
Tricia enjoys being outside with family, friends and her dogs. Usually this means hiking, bike riding, ski touring or sailing. She also enjoys volunteering with Snowbird ski patrol, Holiday River Expeditions, Less Cancer, and the Inland Ocean Coalition.
